East Elmhurst Students Thank Priests

For the last nine years, the students of Our Lady of Fatima School in East Elmhurst have prepared Easter and Christmas gifts that are delivered to the retired priests in Douglaston. This is the students’ way of thanking the priests from the Bishop Mugavero Residence who come to the school each Lent and Advent to hear confessions, and to show their gratitude to all the retired priests for their service in the Diocese of Brooklyn. Displaying the pastel-colored gift bags for the retired priests are, from left, eighth graders Rejab Shan, Marcela Garcia, Jocelyn Carrion and Kiara Murillo.
