Diocesan Math Bee Winners Honored at Two Locations

The Upper Grades Diocesan Math Bee was conducted at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy, Sunset Park, and the Middle Grades competition was held at Immaculate Conception School, Jamaica, earlier this semester.

Cathy Kenny, coordinator of Special Projects for the Office of the Schools Superintendent, organized the Regional and Diocesan Math Bees and thanked Sadlier Publishers for funding these events for the last 30 years.

Here is a list of the top winners in the diocese:

Upper Grade Winners (Grades 6-8)
First Place: Faris Madi, Immaculate Conception School, Jamaica, Grade 8

Second Place: Isabelle Hazar, St. Bernadette School, Dyker Heights, Grade 8

Third Place: Matthew Van Praagh, Holy Trinity Catholic Academy, Whitestone, Grade 8

Middle Grade Winners (Grades 3-5)
First Place: Andrew McKeever, St. Bernard School, Mill Basin, Grade 5

Second Place: Anthony D’Urso, St. Bernadette School, Grade 5

Third Place: Allie Giordano, St. Ephrem School, Dyker Heights, Grade 5
