Twenty students from academies and schools in Brooklyn and Queens participated in the diocesan math bee for sixth-, seventh- and eighth graders at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Academy, Sunset Park. After more than 20 rounds, the winners were named: Nikki McNamara, eighth grade, St. Francis of Assisi School, Astoria, first place; Allie Giordano, seventh grade, St. Ephrem School, Dyker Heights, second place; and Joseph Rowdis, eighth grade, St. Bernadette Catholic Academy, Dyker Heights, third place.
