Dems Disqualify Themselves

Dear Editor: “…the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, a direct killing of the innocent child…and if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?” These prophetic words were spoken in 1994 at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. by our new saint, St. Theresa of Kolkata.

Then she continued, “Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want.”

Abortion is wrong, always, for any reason. Not only does it heartlessly and painfully destroy an innocent unborn child, but it very often also destroys the heart of the child’s mother. It is a moral evil.

Catholic Tim Kaine, vice presidential candidate of the Democrat party, completely   supports abortion-on-demand throughout pregnancy. He also agrees that the federal government’s Health and Human Services should force Catholic nuns and their institutions to provide birth control and abortion services to their employees.   Then he lectures us on how the Church “will change” its beliefs on this and other moral issues in the future (Tablet Editorial, Sept. 17).

The right to life of every human being is the most important issue. How can you enjoy any other right or freedom without the right to live? How can you speak against child abuse, domestic violence, gun violence, capital punishment or even war without this basic right?

Tim Kaine and his running mate have disqualified themselves to be leaders of this country. Abortion is indeed the disqualifying issue. The presidential Democrat ticket is unacceptable – regardless of their positions on any other issues – because abortion is an evil violation of a basic human right.
