CYO Boys’ Swim Champions Crowned

The Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) of Brooklyn and Queens hosted its annual boys’ swimming championships Jan. 11 at the Eisenhower Park Aquatic Center in East Meadow, L.I.

In the ‘A’ Division, the swim team from St. Sebastian, Woodside, continued its dominance in the pool over the past few years with a first-place finish (379 pts.)

The combined team from Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Sunset Park, and St. Andrew the Apostle, Bay Ridge, finished second with 299 pts., and Good Shepherd, Marine Park, came in third with 283 pts.

The ‘B’ Division saw the combined team from St. Ephrem, Dyker Heights, and St. Patrick, Bay Ridge, capture the first-place title with 325 pts.

The team from St. Gregory the Great, Bellerose, and Our Lady of the Snows, North Floral Park, took home second (321 pts.), and third place went to STORM (300 pts.), a combined team from Blessed Trinity, Breezy Point; Resurrection, Gerritsen Beach; and St. Mark, Sheepshead Bay.
