Carmen Josefina Luces, the mother of Deacon Fernando E. Luces, a permanent deacon serving at St. Rita, Long Island City, died Dec. 3 at SS. Joachim and Anne Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coney Island.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 7 at St. Rita Church. Burial was in St. Michael Cemetery, East Elmhurst.
