Back to School 2014 – St. Clare Fosters Safe Learning Environment

St. Clare Catholic Academy is known as an educational environment that is family-oriented and develops the whole child. “This academy is truly child-centered,” Principal Mary Rafferty-Basile says. “The faculty and staff are devoted to assist students to grow academically, spiritually and socially.”

As one walks the halls of St. Clare Catholic Academy, he or she can see that there is so much learning taking place. Teachers are well educated to plan and execute Common Core lessons that engage their students and keep them on task. “With SMART Boards in every classroom, the sky is the limit as to the academic information afforded to the students,” Rafferty-Basile says.

Classes follow a broad academic program which includes library, computer lab, science lab, second language, music, health and physical education. Students can enhance their personal gifts while participating in the several extracurricular activities that include hip-hop and African dance classes, drama, piano, choir, sports and band. The many different programs are proof that the school consistently employs innovative ways to reach and teach students based on their individual needs.

Parents feel confident, each day, that their children are in the best place to achieve academic excellence. “When investing in your child’s education, St. Clare Catholic Academy is where you want your child!” says a pleased parent.

The mission of St. Clare Catholic Academy is to promote Christian values, to enhance morality and to develop respect for self and others. The faculty and staff strive each day to create and ensure a safe and compassionate environment where each child is encouraged to recognize his or her place in the world.

St. Clare Catholic Academy also offers extended daycare to accommodate working parents, which includes an early-morning program and many different after-school programs.

St. Clare Catholic Academy is conveniently located off the Belt Parkway at 137-25 Brookville Blvd., Rosedale.
