The memory of the late Rev. Bartholomew “Barry” Frazzitta — who served in the Diocese of Brooklyn for nearly 50 years and was a chaplain to the Boy Scouts of America — will live on for years to come, thanks to the Ten Mile River Scout Camps Museum.

Bishop DiMarzio Visits Local Scouts in Upstate New York Camp

On August 3, roughly 230 scouts from the New York City area — including the Diocese of Brooklyn — received a special treat when Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio visited them during their week-long stay at Ten Mile River Scout Camps in upstate New York. It was the first time the troops and the bishop could gather together since the pandemic canceled last year’s activities.

Cabrini Shrine Celebrates Patron Saint’s Anniversaries

Following the unveilings of two larger-than-life statues of Mother Cabrini in Manhattan and Brooklyn (in October 2020 and June 2021 respectively), the St. Frances Cabrini Shrine decided to commemorate two other significant moments in the saint’s life. On July 17, the community celebrated Mother Cabrini’s belated 171st birthday (July 15) and the 75th anniversary of her canonization.
