For the 32nd summer, St. Francis de Sales parish, Belle Harbor, hosted its summer classic basketball tournament, which wrapped up Aug. 19.

The tournament started as a series of pick-up games in the mid-1980s but has now evolved into a staple in the Rockaways.

Encompassing age groups from 5 to 18, the classic is one of the largest basketball tournaments in New York City and always stays true to its motto: “After the beach, under the lights, on the clock…the tradition continues.” Here are the winners:

Women’s Open: Community House defeated GOAT

Girls High School: BHYC over Walter Blum’s Giants

Girls Grammar Senior: Rockaway Gliders downed Walsh Management

Boys High School: The Melons squashed JG Electrical Installations

Men’s Open: Kennedy’s won over NYCountry Swag

Grammar Boys Middle: Mullin Basketball Camp defeated RAM Abstract

Grammar Boys Senior: BRS over Rockaway Times
