In celebration of The Order of Preachers’ 800th anniversary, the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville, L.I., will conduct Founders’ Day on Saturday, Sept. 10, at the motherhouse in Amityville.

There will be a special art show, from 1 to 3 p.m. including works from the sisters and associates ranging from painting, sculpture and photography to poetry. It will be held in the Cloister Garden.

The new Dominican Library will be officially open as well and there will be an organ recital at 2:30 p.m. in the Rosary Hall Chapel.

A special liturgy at 3:30 p.m. will follow in St. Albert’s Chapel.
