The annual Buckley’s – Kennedy’s 5K race has become a spring tradition, and once again, the race will traverse through Breezy Point.
This year’s race will be held Sunday, May 18 and will be start, rain or shine, at 10 a.m. The Family Fun Day Picnic will be held from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The registration fee for adults 19 and older is $20 and $25 on the day of. The fee for children 18 and younger is $10. Day of registration is in front of the Army Reserve Center, located on Rockaway Point Boulevard and State Road between Barret Road and Hero Road in Breezy Point.
The Family Fun Day Picnic is open to the general public and is free for all registered race participants. The picnic includes live entertainment by Head Over Heels and DJ Suds, as well as food, beverages and games. It will take place at Breezy Point Ball Field.
The run is dedicated in memory of Elizabeth “Joan” Higgins and Tommy Farrell.
All proceeds from the Buckley’s-Kennedy’s Run benefit HeartShare. Celebrating its Centennial Anniversary, HeartShare is a human services agency, which provides vital services for children and adults diagnosed with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders, and for children and families needing foster care and adoption services, family counseling, HIV/AIDS services, and after-school programs.
