This Saturday afternoon Bishop Robert Brennan issued the following statement in regards to the pending snowstorm beginning overnight.
With the approach of the impending winter storm, I want take this opportunity to urge good practical judgment and caution during and after the storm.
The law of the Church has never asked the impossible. Hence when it is not possible to attend Mass (such as illness, dangerous conditions, or lack of availability), one is excused from the obligation.
Please — especially those who are elderly or suffer any physical impairments — do not take any risks to your health and safety as well as the safety of others.
Also, please keep in mind that schedules may need to be changed especially in parishes where priests are covering multiple Church sites.
As a general reminder, Holy Mass from the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph is broadcast on NET-TV by DeSales Media on Spectrum Channel 97, Channel 30 on Optimum, and Channel 548 on Verizon Fios.
The Sunday Mass schedule on NET-TV is as follows:
9:00 a.m. – Creole
11:00 a.m. – English
Vigil Masses in Italian and Polish air Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Finally, please check in on your families and neighbors, especially those who live alone.
And as always, let us pray for one another.
