FLUSHING — Out of more than 700 nominations, four parishes in the Diocese of Brooklyn won honorable mentions during this year’s Parish Excellence Summit. The Parish Excellence Awards “honor parishes across the country who have exemplified mission-driven innovation and excellence.”

The honored parishes were St. Andrew Avellino (Flushing, Queens), St. Thomas Aquinas (Flatlands, Brooklyn), Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament (Bayside, Queens), and Transfiguration-St. Stanislaus Kostka (Maspeth, Queens) …
