For the ninth straight year, St. John’s University, Jamaica, will host a Dribble for the Cure event, Sept. 21. The school’s men’s and women’s basketball teams will partner with the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF) to help raise funds for pediatric cancer research.
The players and coaches will lead participants in a 30-minute walk around campus dribbling basketballs. The goal is to raise $50,000 toward saving the lives of children battling cancer.
All proceeds benefit the PCRF Laboratory directed by Doctor Mitchell S. Cairo at the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital and New York Medical College. Cairo’s work has increased rates of survival among childhood cancer patients.
