Dear Editor: In response to “Bishops Thankful for Immigrants” and “The Prayer for Persecuted Christians” on Page 4, please note that all of us are immigrants with the exception of native Americans.
But too often the current usage is without distinction between legal and illegal and the Church must support mainly the former who come with only proper vetting and with the skills and spirit to help America instead of selfishly sapping its strength.
We must make sure that our doors are carefully opened to those who persecuted any religion in their native country. We must reach out in dialogue with all faiths to promote love and understanding, that there be a mutual respect. Tolerance is great but love is better as an ultimate goal.
