St. Fidelis Confirmation
“The sacrament of confirmation helps to strengthen the children, to help them continue living with God’s commandments to help their local church and the universal Church,” Bishop Mroziewski said in his homily.

After spending part of their first year of confirmation via distance learning at the height of the pandemic, 31 students were excited to be back in person to finish and prepare for their sacrament of confirmation. The candidates were in retreat at St. Fidelis, College Point, in preparation for their confirmation which took place on Saturday, Oct. 16.

The event was presided by Bishop Witold Mroziewski.

“The sacrament of confirmation helps to strengthen the children, to help them continue living with God’s commandments to help their local church and the universal Church,” Bishop Mroziewski said in his homily.

Father John Francis, pastor of St. Fidelis, congratulated the newly-confirmed members of the parish. “We pray that the Spirit of God may bless our newly confirmed and help them to be strong in faith,” he said. “I encourage all our young people to let the Holy Spirit guide them to accept true Christian vocation and their mission from God with courage and joy.”
