The power of the sacraments comes from the fact that they were instituted by Jesus Christ. Each sacrament brings us closer to the Lord, and that’s why they have power.
Archbishop Molloy H.S.
The sacraments encourage people’s hope and faith in the meaning of life. There’s so much goodness and meaning in believing. When you confess sins to a priest you are being unburdened of their weight. In marriage, there is a bond between two people that is unbreakable.

The Holy Eucharist allows me to see my loving God everyday. Every time I’m at Mass and receive the host, I am receiving the divinity of our Lord. I am also accepting my faith every time I say “Amen (I believe)” before I receive the Eucharist.
Archbishop Molloy H.S.
A sacrament fills the person who received it with God’s Grace, and strengthens their relationship with Him and their faith. Whenever I receive the Eucharist or go to confession, I feel I am closer to my faith and strive to always live as the best person I can be.

Every sacrament has its own purpose and importance. For example, confession gives us the chance for Eternal Life, which should be our main goal in life.
