Turkey’s military offensive in northern Syria marks another threat to Christians in the Middle East. The incursion, which began on Oct. 9 after President Donald Trump pulled U.S. troops out of the area, has already resulted in deaths of Christians and has displaced many more.

Trump said in a statement on the day the Turkish strikes started that Turkey had “committed to protecting civilians, protecting religious minorities, including Christians, and ensuring no humanitarian crisis takes place.”
