Auxiliary Bishop Octavio Cisneros and Msgr. Joseph Nagle, director of the diocesan Propagation of the Faith Office, pose with representatives of all the schools that were honored on Mission Sunday at a Mass at St. James Cathedral-Basilica, Downtown Brooklyn. St. Joseph Catholic Academy, Astoria, was cited for donating the most funds for the missions of all the schools in Brooklyn and Queens. The second highest amount was from St. Bernadette School, Dyker Heights.
Below, Bishop Cisneros presents an award to St. Bernadette students; the delegation from St. Francis Prep, Fresh Meadows, gives a school jacket to Bishop Cisneros; students from Our Lady of Guadalupe School in front row; and the offertory gifts are brought to the altar.
