Local St. Patrick Parades 2013

Irish green is worn proudly in Brooklyn and Queens — but never more so than in the weeks leading up to the feast day of St. Patrick, patron of the Emerald Isle. 
 
Here is a list of the upcoming St. Patrick Parades in the diocese:
 
Sunday, March 2, 1 p.m. — Queens County St. Patrick’s Day Parade. A pre-parade Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church, Belle Harbor. Parade steps off at Beach 129th St. and Newport Ave. Grand Marshal: Jack Ahern.
 
Sunday, March 17, 1 p.m. – The Irish-American Parade in Park Slope, beginning with Mass at Holy Name Church. Grand Marshal: Robert O’Hare.
 
Sunday, March 24, 1 p.m. – The Bay Ridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade preceded by Mass at St. Patrick’s Church. Grand Marshal: Sister Virginia Lake, C.S.J., of Bishop Kearney H.S.
 
Saturday, March 30, 1 p.m. – Gerritsen Beach St. Patrick’s Parade. Grand Marshal: State Senator Martin Golden.

Queens Irish Ready to March

At a recent dinner-dance, the Queens County St. Patrick’s Day Parade officials and honorees gathered to prepare for the march. From left, are: New York State Assemblymember Michael G.
