Lincoln Center Concert Nets $1 Million for Catholic Education

Lincoln Center’s Geffen Hall was filled with 2,800 people as the diocese’s Futures in Education presented its Spirit of Christmas Concert on Dec. 12. Performers included The New York Tenors: Danny Rodriguez, Andy Cooney and Christopher Macchia, and singing sensation Sister Cristina Scuccia, O.S.U., winner of Italy’s version of The Voice, making her American debut. Msgr. Jamie Gigantiello, diocesan vicar for development, presented Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio with a check for $1 million to support Catholic education in the diocese. Back-up roles were played by the children’s choir from Sacred Hearts-St. Stephen parish, Carroll Gardens, and the Hibernian Festival Singers.
