Good Shepherd Rings in Baseball Season

Just in time for the start of baseball season, Good Shepherd parish, Marine Park, held its annual “Baseball Bash” March 28, where over 20 avid fans – equally split between Mets and Yankees – got together to discuss everything baseball.

The spirited two and half-hour discussion touched on which MLB team looks the best heading into the season (consensus: Washington Nationals), which player was better during their best five seasons, Mickey Mantle or Willie Mays (consensus: Willie Mays), and how should the public handle the return of Alex Rodriguez and the case of reinstatement for Pete Rose.

“It was very enjoyable and very lively,” said Father Jim Devlin, Good Shepherd’s pastor and the discussion’s organizer. “They’re easy to please. We had a very good time.”
