Bishop Sanchez Visits Our Lady of Lourdes School In Queens Village

Our Lady of Lourdes School, Queens Village, opened Catholic Schools Week with a prayer service celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Paul Sanchez and Msgr. Robert Pawson, pastor. Sister Josephine Barbiere, C.S.J., displayed a plaque commemorating the bishop’s visit. At the service, students dressed in the garb of their native lands, including the Philippines, India, Haiti and Guyana. Other CSW activities featured a visit from Vinny Voltage, who demonstrated his own brand of entertaining science; Student Appreciation Day; Career Day; Teacher Appreciation Day; and a visit from the NET-TV cameras. Our Lady of Lourdes was featured on the School of the Week segment, seen every Thursday on NET-TV, the diocesan cable television network.
